Æon Suspending Publication.

19 November 2008 After four years of publication, Æon Speculative Fiction, the quarterly electronic magazine published by Quintamid Publishing Inc., is suspending publication effective immediately. All submissions are being returned, and authors of the brilliant stories currently in inventory will have the option to be published in "The End of an Æon" anthology, to be released in 2009. Editors Bridget and Marti McKenna would like to thank the SF community for making the last four years far more interesting for us and our readers than they otherwise would have been, and we look forward to continuing to work with all of you through The Internet Review of Science Fiction.

04 June 2008 Due to a backlog of submissions needing our attention, Aeon is temporarily closed to submissions. For the next few weeks we’re going be putting our efforts into digging through our submissions backlog and replying to authors who’ve been waiting too long to hear from us, while also implementing some exciting changes in content delivery. The Reading Window for Streetmail is Now Closed

29 November 2007 Effective immediately, Aeon Speculative Fiction is temporarily closed to postal submissions. All submissions postmarked on or before 03 December 2007 will be read as usual, but submissions postmarked after 03 Dec will be returned unread.

The editors will announce the re-opening of the reading window sometime in the first half of 2008, via the Writers’ Guidelines page.

Aeon Speculative Fiction Goes Pro

(From our press release) 28 November 2007 SEATTLE, WA – Aeon Speculative Fiction, the quarterly electronic magazine now in its fourth year of publication, announced today that it will double its pay rate with issue Thirteen, raising it from three to six cents per word.

“We’re thrilled to be able to give our authors a better deal,” said Bridget McKenna, Aeon co-editor. “And so far, they don't seem to mind, either.” Authors with stories already contracted for issues Thirteen and beyond will receive revised contracts reflecting the pay increase.
